We have linked to as many useful DataEase tools and files as we can find. This list is NOT all inclusive and depending upon various conditions, some of these links may not always be present. Anything offered here is strictly with the intent of offering the DataEase user community another source of readily available information. Lan Manager places locks on files. Sometimes, in the heat of battle, these locks don't get released properly, especially when a user crashes out of a DataEase application. This application provides two functions. 1. It runs a Net Files command to a text file and imports that file into a table for display. 2. It provides a facility to delete the offending users locks. Please read the screen notes on the applicable screens. Wholesale deleting locks can cause damage to important data. Use the facility to determine which users are creating havoc with your DataEase applications. You'll sometimes notice a user that has a high number of locks on the DataEase LAN files. This user has created a problem that causes other user trying to log into the application to experience the dreaded "Initialization Error". This is a DE 5.17 database. Unzip the entire contents into a single directory. It contains several batch files that are components of the database. Examine the OpenFile.Bat file, and adjust the path statements to comply with your individual system/drives etc. This is a 4.53 DBA file to create a form that demonstrates using a Start_Time and an End_Time to calculate elapsed minutes. It also rounds the minutes up to the next quarter hour. Useful for time/billing applications that round time elements up to the next quarter hour. delete reports from a DataEase 4.5x data base. As of 29 December 2000,
Lee Drake has placed the program in the public domain with the caveat that
he will not support it and that it should be used on a backup of the data base,
just in case. Use the included VIEWREPT program to help you build
the command files and review their work. BILDREPO.EXE - From Jerry Netherton: This utility creates a new REPOnAAA.DBM file where the original has become hopelessly corrupted or even deleted or destroyed. Rename your REPOnAAA.DBM (if you still have one). From within the database directory run BILDREPO. It reads the .DBR files and creates a new file called JERRY.REP. Rename JERRY.REP to REPOnAAA.DBM and you should be up and running again good as new. K_Dirs is an enhanced version of Dirs2.exe written by Jerry Netherton. It takes both a path and a filename (including wildcards) as a command-line argument as suggested by Kevin Witty. (Kevin is the author of ZZDoesit! and ZZMenus). An example: C:\> K_Dirs C:\Windows *.dll > C:\Dll.txt Would create the file Dll.txt in the root of the C: drive. The file would contain: "C","WINDOWS","PIDGEN","DLL",27616,"19:27:00","07/25/00","" yadda, yadda... Roundx.exe is another Jerry Netherton CDF released into the public domain. There is a readme file with all the documentation necessary by Richard Mason The 4.53r1p1 Userform.dbs occassionaly gets changed when Windows changes Day-Light Savings Time across the system causing the bi-annual "User Directory Open" error. Here's a good one... You'll have to PKUNZIP Userform.dbs from the downloaded Userform.Zip file... In the interests of providing as much available resources to the DataEase community, we have also provided an executable form of the UserForm.DBS... Userform.EXE To apply the Userform.exe, simply copy the file to your hard drive and execute the following command at a DOS prompt: Userform {Drive:\PathtotheDataEaseProgramSubdirectory} Caution: Some network administrators may block the downloading of executable program files such as Userform.exe. As well, certain antivirus software may attempt to block the downloading and emailing of executable programs such as Userform.exe. Place Userform.Zip and or Userform.exe in your DataEase 4.53 program subdirectory... You'll probably need it again... ZTERM2.EXE Zterm2.exe is
an executable program used to modify certain parameters within the ZtermDef.DBZ
file. Dictionary Mike Monetta has submitted a Dictionary file of English words. There are two files, the DBA, and DBM for DFD version 4.53. There are 60,844 words, in a 20 character text field. Correct spelling of words has not been verified This file is also available at toto.com's archives.... Broken Extended Date Auto-Fill The pro-offered 5.16 application demonstrates the broken Auto-Fill for Extended Dates whenever a multiform is present. PkUnZip Kevin.Zip The database Name is Kevin, The user name is Kevin, there is no password. The menu illustrates both a working Extended Date Auto-Fill and a Non-working version.... Standard Dates appear to Auto-fill correctly. RAJ Gabrielse's UnDEDev UnDEDev is a utility to remove any information placed by DataEase Developer in the RDRR/REPO files of 4.2x or 4.5x DataEase for Dos applications, it can also read and clean these files from DataEase Express 1.x, DataEase for Dos 5.x and from DataEase for Windows 5.x applications. However, in the case of Express it will still report the application's version as 4.5x. There is an extensive README.1st file... Please READ IT! BOR's System Forms The purpose of these forms/reports/dql's and dbi's is to allow the
developer to "extract" information about the forms and DQL's in a particular app.
Once you have modified these contents for your app Unpacking and Installation files and processes are contained in the readme.txt file. Novell Client32 W9531E.EXE is an 11MB file. It's version 3.1, that is no longer available at Novell's site. This version precedes the current Win95/98 versions that appear to have problems with locking in DataEase.
